Local historian and author, Steve Williams (who is also Secretary of the Chorley Pals Memorial and the Chorley Remembers project) is giving an illustrated talk entitled “Buckshaw before it was a village”.

It chronicles the history of the Royal Ordnance Factory site at Euxton, near Chorley, from 1937 until the last remnants were finally demolished a few years ago to become Buckshaw Village.

The talk is part of the Chorley Remembers outreach project to get local communities involved in their history, at the same time appealing for former workers at the ROF site to come forward to take part in a memories project.

The talk is on Sunday, 25th March at the Buckshaw Village Community Centre, starting at 2.30 p.m.; admission is free and everyone is welcome to attend.
