Chorley Remembers on display at Chorley Library

We have kindly been given the use of one of the display cabinets in the main entrance at Chorley Library to promote the project.

On display are images of the Chorley Pals Memorial and local men who fought in the First World War, Second World War and recent conflicts, including Afghanistan.

Telegrams from a local soldier to his wife after being freed from Japanese captivity in 1945 also feature, as well as an identity card and fuel ration book from the Second World War, and a World War One bayonet.

There’s also a photograph from 1963 of staff outside the ROF headquarters building on Euxton Lane.

The display, put together by Chorley Remembers Secretary and local historian Steve Williams, will be in the Library until the end of October.
