Here are the events happening in Chorley on Remembrance Sunday, 11th November:
At 10.50am, the newly upgraded Chorley War Memorial in Astley Park will be the backdrop for the Civic Act of Remembrance, led by the Mayor of Chorley Councillor June Molyneaux. The service will be conducted by Rev Martin Cox of St. Lawrence’s, Chorley and wreaths will be laid by Lindsay Hoyle MP, the Royal British Legion, the Cadets and representatives from other uniformed organisations.
At 12.00 noon at the Chorley Pals Memorial on the Flat Iron, Union Street, Chorley PR7 1AL, an Act of Remembrance will be led by Lindsay Hoyle MP, Chairman of the Chorley Pals Memorial – all welcome.
New Remembrance Exhibition
From Sunday, 11th to Thursday, 22nd November at The Coach House, Astley Hall, off Hallgate, Chorley PR7 1NP - “Eleven”, an 11 day exhibition of war paintings and photographs, from The Great War to modern times. Open daily from 12.00 noon to 4.30 p.m., free entry.
