Chorley War Memorial site update - 2nd October 2012

The site was a hive of activity today as the contractors looked to finish laying concrete in the foundations for the new low screen wall and adjoining random stone wall.

They hope to start doing the block work for the wall to support the Portland Limestone panels tomorrow (Wednesday).

A specialist bricklayer started making the wall around the newly relocated Falklands Stone, incorporating the ‘Conflict stones’ in date order.

May we remind people that the site is officially closed and that it is a working building site for the next month or so. It is subject to Health & Safety rules and regulations and no one should enter the site without prior permission of Chorley Council or Chorley Remembers.

Any questions or queries as to the work, progress, etc. should be directed to our Secretary, Steve Williams, on 07963 345956; thank you.
