A bouncing bomb on a Lancaster Bomber

Nearly 2,000 people have viewed our Dambuster raid 70th anniversary story on Facebook since 16th May.

The bouncing bombs, dropped by the RAF on three German dams in World War Two, were filled at ROF Chorley in Euxton.

Hardly anything remains of the former Royal Ordnance Factory - it is now Buckshaw Village.

We have a few photographs of the ROF site, taken in 1994, whilst some 119 black & white images are in the English Heritage archives in Swindon (they make a charge for each one bought).
