French visitors to Chorley Remembers exhibition

French Visitors 24 Aug 2013

12 visitors from the village of Azay-le-Rideau, near Tours in France, had a guided tour of Chorley’s latest attraction yesterday.

Azay-le-Rideau (population 3,418) in the Loire valley, is twinned with village of Croston near Chorley.

Vice-Chairman of the twinning group, former Chairman of Lancashire County Councillor and ex-Mayor of Chorley Alan Whittaker brought his guests and was met by Project Manager, Steve Williams.

They were shown around, duly assisted by local teacher, Claire Williams (no relation), who helped with the translation.

The verdict on the exhibition was “c’était magnifique”!

Over 6,600 people have visited the exhibition in the Coach House at Astley Hall, Chorley since it opened on the 15th June this year.
