New Trustee appointed to Chorley Pals Memorial

New Trustee Stuart Clewlow Appointed

The Chorley Pals Memorial charity have appointed a new Trustee.

Euxton based Stuart Clewlow, a local historian & author, accepted an invitation to join the Board on Friday 19th July.

Father of three Stuart [pictured above left with Lindsay Hoyle MP and Steve Williams] is an avid collector of military memorabilia, as well researching and writing books and articles on local and military history.

A volunteer on the Chorley Remembers project since 2012, Stuart assisted in setting up the displays at the recently-opened Chorley Remembrance Experience exhibition in the Coach House at Astley Hall.

Commenting on the appointment, Chorley Pals Memorial Chairman Lindsay Hoyle MP said: “We are pleased that Stuart accepted our invitation to join the trust. His knowledge and enthusiasm will be a great asset as we look to build on our work over the last six years.”

Formed in 2007, the Chorley Pals Memorial is run by Trustees - all local people.

It is led by Lindsay Hoyle MP with local historian & author Steve Williams as the Secretary, with WW1 historian & author John Garwood, Stephen Penlington (Chief Executive of Chorley Building Society), Solicitor Simon Robinson and Accountant Josephine Ecob as the other trustees - who all work together to run the charity and related projects.
